In straightforward and heartfelt prose, he shares his experience of enduring the loss of a lifelong partner, illustrating how sorrow, isolation, and even thoughts of despair can be transformed into a love-driven determination to continue living. His work offers readers a personal exploration of remembrance, resilience, and healing.
Now 81 years old, Murrey became a widower in 2020 when his wife of sixty years, Regina L. Murrey, passed away. Their marriage, set against a modest backdrop, was marked by two devoted partners who faced economic, racial, health, and emotional challenges without ever losing their commitment to one another.
Kenneth met Regina at the age of fifteen on a beach in Maryland and fell in love within minutes. They married two years later. "Regina was my queen in life," he writes. "She made every day a wonderful world with her at my side. I loved her with all of my heart and soul. She was an angel on this earth to me."
He did not consider himself a writer. Regina suggested he start writing while she was in the hospital. He wrote the first two books in 90 days. "It was so easy to write," he says, "because I experienced every line and every page."
